WHO WE ARE

Located in Kitale, Kenya, the Precious Kids Center serves children with disabilities to provide the support they need to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Each child is cared for according to their individual needs. Additionally, PKC works to equip parents and educate the community to be more accepting and supportive of children with disabilities.

Through contributions from our generous donors, we are able to provide basic needs, like warm meals, to special education classrooms for our children.

BRIAN’S STORY

Brian was three years old when we first met him. He was severely neglected and mistreated by his family. He had cerebral palsy and he couldn’t walk, talk, sit or do anything on his own.

The first few weeks were filled with long nights as we grappled with the challenge of caring for a child with serious disabilities. It wasn’t long before God made it clear what our calling was: to serve the children with disabilities in Kitale.

On March 8, 2012, the Precious Kids Center opened their doors and took in their first child.

Today, almost 200 children live in the Precious Kids Center.

Today we got to celebrate our one and only, Sammy! 🎂🎊🎈🎁 Anyone who knows her can say she is truly an amazing soul! She walks in humility and is always serving others. We are blessed to call her “mom” and so thankful for all the Lord has done through her! We are here because of her obedience and her “yes” to God! Sammy, it is so easy to celebrate you, and we all love you so much!💛💛💛

As we start a new week, we pray everyone’s Easter celebration was wonderful! We know there’s no other life but JESUS, and we give our continual thanks to Him, for giving us this eternal assurance - never ending LIFE! Jesus has been so faithful, and we have been seeing his Resurrection life being made manifest here at our home! Faces of PKC… Meet Claire. Claire came to PKC in 2020. She had suffered horrible heartbreak after the death of her mother and when her father remarried her stepmother, put her through unimaginable abuse. The very first day we met Claire, her joy through extreme adversity was the most striking thing about her. She didn’t seem to have any reason to smile at all, but through it all, his presence was with her… You’ll always find Claire snuggling and taking care of the little ones. She loves helping peel the potatoes and veggies with the kitchen staff in the morning, and loves cracking jokes. She loves singing to Jesus when our Aunties play Worship music through the house. She is a master at crocheting, and is always keeping her hands busy… There is no one quite like her. We are thankful to Jesus that Claire is apart of our family. And we are so grateful to the Lord that he is redeeming Claire’s story for HIS GLORY! 🙌🏻✨ #kitale #kenya #servingorphansworldwide #preciouskidscenter

Our bedrooms are finally COMPLETE! 🛏️✨Here’s a “before and AFTER!” We are just overwhelmed by the blessings of the Lord! The rest of our home is still in the middle of renovations, but we’re so thankful to have our rooms! For our children to have their own beds and not have to share two or three to a bed, is a huge blessing! God is so faithful, and He keeps his promises! We are seeing his hand move in our home, our children, and staff! Meet our new Social Workers, John and Karen!! John studied at Kobujoi Institute of Development Studies in Nandi County. He lives here in Kitale with his wife and son, Maxwell! He’s responsible for all our administrative work here on campus! He’s always keeping himself busy, and going above and beyond with our kiddos and staff! Karen studied at Kitale National Polytechnic. She worked for PKC right when we opened up in 2012, as a caretaker! Now we’re so excited to have her back with us as one of our social workers! She’s responsible for all our home visits, school follow ups, hospital visits, and making sure all our reintegrated kids get their monthly medications. We are blessed and so grateful to the Lord to have these two on our team!!✨

We are so thankful to have our first group in 2024 with us this past week! They have been such a delight and blessing to our home! They pampered our house moms and laundry ladies, who work day and night for our kids. They sorted clothes, taught stretching and dance classes to our kids, and went on our house visits! The body of Christ is a beautiful thing; demonstrating love “in action”, and being his hands and feet in everything. Meet our newest security guard in training. Bramwel has been a member of the Precious Kids family since 2012. It has been a pleasure to watch him grow and thrive over the past 11 years. He has recently shown an interest in security and is always helping welcome visitors, open the gate and has been taken under the wing by our current guard, David, who is a great mentor and patiently showing Bramwel the ins and outs of security. Our joy is to see these kids finding their passions and supporting them on their way to accomplish their goals.
